The Department of Biology is the hub of the basic biological sciences at the University of Washington. Faculty and students in the Department of Biology conduct cutting-edge research which furthers our understanding of the natural world and finds application in fields from conservation to biomedical sciences. Our faculty provide a comprehensive and progressive education to graduate and undergraduate students. And the Department plays an active role in disseminating knowledge of the biological sciences to the general public.
